24 weeks... 6 months down...

Alright... I just realized that I only have a little over three months left! I have gone into a little bit of a panic mode. I am pretty sure Jeff thinks I am actually turning into a crazy person! It all started a couple of days ago...
Friday was my last day at work before Christmas Vacation! Woo Hoo! I am off for the next two weeks! I had been talking to many people about plans for the next couple of weeks and I always would reply with.. "well I really want to get started on the nursery". It seemed like a good idea, until I realized that I have done absolutely NOTHING so far! I felt like I had plenty of time and the break would be perfect, except that my break also entails finishing Christmas shopping, traveling to Lubbock for Christmas, taking Stewie to Conroe, My Grandmother and parents will be in town, and New Years! So when I looked at everything together I don't have much time! So today I decided to go full force and start organizing!

The big problem was when I started planning out what I wanted to get done, I realized not only did the nursery need to begin somehow, but the rest of the house was a disaster!  So I have about 45 different projects going on at the same time... oops!

I know it will all get done somehow and Jeff has been very patient with me! I am just very anxious to get everything finished and enjoy the fun things like decorating!!

p.s. Polka dots were not the best choice...
The scary thing is that I actually went to the gym in this shirt!

22, 23 going on 24

Wow I really am getting behind at each week. I will try to catch you up for the last couple. Not much has changed except the progressing belly each day. It may not look like it in pictures, but it is growing more and more each day! I told Jeff the other day that I feel like it does not belong on my body. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE being pregnant. I promise I am not just saying that, I know lots of people who may say they don't mind it, some say they are not a big fan, but I really am enjoying every moment!

She is moving around a ton, mostly around 3 or 4 in the morning! It was definitely weird the first time I  actually saw my stomach move. I look forward to every little kick I feel throughout my day and night. I have had many more looks from strangers, but still no creepers I don't have tried to touch my belly, I can't wait for that day!

I am getting very excited for Christmas! All the cards are sent, lights are up, but few presents have been bought! That is my mission for the next couple of days! Jeff and I went out all day Saturday to complete the shopping, but I think we ended up buying more things for Jeff than presents. I am all for Jeff buying himself things, because the poor guy never shops... me on the other hand...

Here are a couple of pics... sorry they are a little behind!

21 weeks... a little late

I have been really behind on keeping up with posts! I'm not sure why, but I think it's just a big case of being lazy!

One thing I have accomplished this past week was completing my Christmas decorations... well most of them! I am still contemplating lights out on the front bushes, but the weather has not been on my side these last couple of days. I just hate being the grinch house with no lights! :(

Thanksgiving weekend

I have so much to be thankful for this year! A wonderful husband, loving family and a baby girl on the way!

For Thanksgiving this year, Jeff and I traveled to good old Conroe with my sister and her husband, 2 dogs, a cat, 2 sets of golf clubs and clothes for 4 people for a week! Lets just say we had a very cosy ride! I always look forward to Thanksgiving because it is a laid back holiday with LOTS of food to enjoy. My sister and I had planned our couple of dishes to bring to our large family gathering but I do not think we were planning for having to cook in a tiny kitchen at the lakehouse where my parents now live. It was an adventure, after a couple of trips to the grocery Thanksgiving morning we finally had everything prepared. We traveled down to Spring to my Aunt Coll's house where we spent a wonderful evening with lots of family! It was a blast! Being pregnant and having the best food holiday all at the same time is a very dangerous combo. I was definitely eating for two that day! ( and the rest of the weekend)

The weekend was filled with boys playing golf, girls shopping and lots of left overs and family time!

                                                             Car ride to Conroe
As we got back to Austin Sunday night, I was reminded that I had started my Christmas decorating, but left in the middle of it. I do not know why it was taking me so long, but all I know is I started ELF for the third time and finally made myself stop! It definitely has taken me longer this year, I just don't have as much energy i guess. As of now, most of the decorating is finished, I am just debating on putting our small tree upstairs...we will see.

My plan is to begin some Christmas shopping tomorrow, I feel very behind this year! I am just happy that everywhere I go I hear Christmas music! How can you not be happy listening to Christmas carols?

20 weeks! Half way there!!

I can't believe I am half way there! It is amazing how quickly each week had gone by! The best part is that tomorrow we will find out if Baby is a boy or a girl! We are so excited! It is all becoming more and more "real". I know that may sound silly, because I have obviously been very aware we are having a baby, but it feels like we have been waiting  to make any decisions untill now! Let the shopping begin!

19 weeks

There are many perks to being a teacher, one is hearing the comments 5th graders have about being pregnant! Here are just a a couple of the things I have heard this week...

"Mrs. Sutton, that belt gonna hurt your baby!"  - this is to me after wearing a belt above my bump

" I told my class you were pregnant, but they didn't believe me, they said they just thought you were getting fatter!"

I love my job!

                                                                           19 weeks

It is sad that everyday I come home and immediately put on some sort of leggings or work out pants! Jeff is probably getting a little tired of me looking like a slob! Oh well, I feel it will only get worse...

There is something in there....

Last Friday I am pretty sure I felt baby move! Well... I wasn't sure for a couple of days but when I kept feeling this weird bubble pop in my belly I finally allowed myself to understand that there is a real live human moving around in my belly! It kinda creeped me out a little, but also was pretty amazing!

There have been a couple of new things my body is getting use to, such as my belly button is getting more and more shallow! Jeff thinks its hilarious... me, not so much! I have always thought there is no way my weird deep belly button could ever pop out... but I am quickly realizing that this baby can pretty much do whatever it wants to me! I am also pretty sure my ankles are swollen. I'm not sure, but all of the sudden I looked down and my ankles seem awkwardly larger than normal. It may be in my head.... I will find out tomorrow when I try to wear my skinny jeans and they may not fit around my ankles.

Besides some of the weird things happening to me, I have had a pretty good week so far! Shopping has filled most of my evenings since Jeff has been out of town. New maternity jeans, leggings, and snowboard pants.... yes snowboard pants! Now no need to worry, I am completely aware that this will be the first in a very long time that I will not be able to go snow skiing, but that does not stop me from an AMAZING bargain! Check it out....
Yes, that is right, I bought a pair of $219.00 Burton snowboard pants for $15.99!! This is why I do not understand how people do not bargain shop! I know searching through racks of clothing you most likely do not want is time consuming... but it is totally worth it when you find a deal like this!
Only 5 days till we find out who this new little addition will be! Stewie can't wait to find out if he is going to have a brother or a sister! I am so excited and pretty sure I will drag Jeff straight to Janie and Jack from our doctors appointment Monday!

Friends and Football

This weekend Jeff and I were honored to have some of our best friend in town for the weekend! Jeremy and Andi drove the dreaded drive from the LBK to ATX to watch Tech embarrass themselves against ut. Although the game was very uneventfull, we had a wonderful weekend. Friday night was spent catching up and making an early night to prepare for the 11am game on Saturday. We woke up early and headed to Trace and Jenna Vinyards tailgate for the beginning of a good day. Football watching and good food at J.Blacks ended our day pretty early... yes we all headed home at 10pm and were wiped!

Jeff does a good job of making sure I am comfortable and happy while out at the bars sippin my water all night. Sean was able to join us for the evening and treated me to a delisious mexican coke float (perks of being the pregnant one)! I totally understand how easy it is to indulge on yummy food, because people feel bad for you and there is NO WAY I will turn away something sweet!

Speaking of eating too much, I have been sitting on the couch catching up on shows and email in my workout clothes for the last couple of hours. I keep telling Jeff that I am heading to the gym... but it has not happened yet! I have enjoyed my couple of personal training sessions last week, I have one more then I am on my own. You are able to continue most all the same workouts that you would do if not pregnant, but just on a lower impact level. It is very nice being able to work out for an hour and leave not having broke a sweat! I don't have to be the stinky one walking around HEB anymore! Now dont get me wrong, I am VERY sore from not having done any strength training in about 6 months.

The last 2 weeks I have watched the scale go up about a pound each week. I know it is nesessary and totally normal, but it is crazy to be "allowed" to gain weight! I am still looking forward to actually looking "more pregnant". I bought the cutest dress a couple of weeks ago to wear for Thanksgiving, and as of now it's looking like it may have to wait till Chirstmas. I definitly did not realize at the beginning, that for about 1/2 of your pregnancy you don't even look pregnant, you just feel crappy, tired and everyone wonders why you arn't drinking!

I am 18 weeks and 2 days today and we are counting down the days (15) untill we find out of we are having a little Phoebe or Phoebo. That will be the start of lots of shopping I am sure!

17 weeks

17 weeks have come and gone! It is CRAZY to think how quickly each week has gone by! Bring it on month 5! I am really enjoying my pregnancy so far! I love my growing belly and it is looking more and more like I am actually prego, not like I can't put down the fork. I am REALLY looking forward to getting out of my regular pants and into some comfy maternity pants. It is still that awkward stage that I need to use a rubber band to keep my pants on, but maternity pants just kinda look silly. I have found some great deals online from Gilt and Zulily, so I feel like I have a pretty good start to my attempt to not look like a big mess through this pregnancy. ( New favorite: More of Me Maternity)

I am very excited about tomorrow... I am meeting with a personal trainer to teach me some baby mama work out skills! I have really tried to stick with my routine of going to the gym 3-4 times a week, but right when I found out I was pregnant I stopped going to all the fun classes I was use to and just started the boring elliptical and treadmill...blah! I am thrilled to find new things for me to do that I know are safe while pregnant and maybe will give me a little more energy and less flabby arms!

Oh, I forgot... We went to the doc on Wednesday and heard the heartbeat. It sounded like a big wind tunnel! She said everything is going great and we were able to schedule our next appointment to find out if baby is a boy or girl! November 21! The next three weeks better fly by, cause I am ready to get moving on baby's room. I feel like I can't even wrap my head around what I want to do until I find out. Also, we haven't even thought of names yet, Jeff really wanted to wait until we found out to eliminate 1/2 the stress of name picking (although I have my names already going).

15 weeks

Our baby's the size of a navel orange!
The average fetus at 15 weeks weighs 2.5 ounces and measures 4 inches -- and its proportions are becoming even more normal, since his legs now outmeasure his arms.
I know I'm a little late, Friday I will be at 16 weeks, but I love seeing how big it gets each week!

I miss...

I feel like these last couple of weeks have gone by so quickly! I am almost at 16 weeks and I have my next doctors appointment next Wednesday. We will get to hear the heartbeat, she said the rest will be boring and quick but we are really looking forward to hearing baby!

I receive tons of different emails from websites that inform me on what is happening to myself and baby. I just learned that our little one is starting to hear and they say it can start to recognize our voices, although I still feel silly if I started talking to my growing belly!

I realized I needed to make a post when I was sitting downstairs with Jeff and he was enjoying a nice cold Octoberfest beer while watching game 1. That is when I started thinking of the little things I have changed, mostly in the foods I am eating, these are some things I really am starting to miss.

Things I miss... already

-sushi
-egg salad
-smoked salmon
-bleu cheese, brie
-medium rare steak
-happy hour after a long day at work

Lubbock weekend

                                                                    14 week belly

Last week was very busy and went by so quickly. Jeff finally returned from his 11 day Chicago business trip, I had two professional development days at work, two days with the kiddos and then we took off to Lubbock on Thursday night to visit Jeff's family.

Lubbock was a blast as always! We spent lots of time catching up with Jeff's parents and sister! We saw Jenny's new house, ate Abuelos and spent all day Saturday tailgating and went to the Tech game! It was a great weekend!

I'm STARVING

I am hungry ALL the time! I feel like even after I eat I am still hungry! I'm sure I am also just enjoying the fact that people are always telling me " it's okay because I'm pregnant". Because I am eating all day long I really am trying to eat somewhat healthy food, plus I'm not a huge fast food eater (except Chick-fil-a, which happens to be right down the road). I try to go to the grocery when I am not hungry and I am really trying to eat a lot of fruits and veggies! Yesterday while I was at work and about to begin my day of eating, I thought I would make a list of everything I was eating just so I could actually see what and how much I was consuming.... Here is my list so far...

7:30am- Odwalla Superfood smoothie
8:00am- 1/2 grapefruit w/ splenda, strawberry yogurt
10:30am (my school lunch time)- mini choc chip Cliff bar, cut up fruit mix of strawberries, kiwi and grapes, chocolate covered banana chips
1:00pm- handful (or two) of some food reinforcers in my classroom- pirates booty puffed corn and veggie chips- It definitely pays to be a sped teacher and have food around me all day!
4:00pm- cut up cucumbers and hummus, string cheese
6:30pm- Pizza with good friends ( I'm definitely not eating healthy all day, I feel 1/2 the day is plenty)
8:00pm- Frozen lemonade popsicle

And A LOT of water ALL day! I'm so sick of water!

It is truly amazing when I really have my mind set on something that all my smart eating habits mean nothing to me and all I want to think about is how quickly I can get what I want to eat! At the very beginning I remember thinking that cravings were all in your head and that was just excuses people used to indulge on things we normally wouldn't allow ourselves to eat. I now take all that back! I am so lucky that I am locked inside a school running around with kids all day that I am not able to leave and get food. So what I bring is what I get that day (there is no way I'm going near the cafeteria). But when I leave and I feel like all I want is a grilled cheese sandwich with munster, provolone and well any other cheese in sight, that is ALL I can think about! I would have to say that my go to snack so far would probably be hummus and veggies or pita bread!
Looking at all the food and thinking about the day to come... I think baby wants me to go on a walk!
