Thanksgiving weekend

I have so much to be thankful for this year! A wonderful husband, loving family and a baby girl on the way!

For Thanksgiving this year, Jeff and I traveled to good old Conroe with my sister and her husband, 2 dogs, a cat, 2 sets of golf clubs and clothes for 4 people for a week! Lets just say we had a very cosy ride! I always look forward to Thanksgiving because it is a laid back holiday with LOTS of food to enjoy. My sister and I had planned our couple of dishes to bring to our large family gathering but I do not think we were planning for having to cook in a tiny kitchen at the lakehouse where my parents now live. It was an adventure, after a couple of trips to the grocery Thanksgiving morning we finally had everything prepared. We traveled down to Spring to my Aunt Coll's house where we spent a wonderful evening with lots of family! It was a blast! Being pregnant and having the best food holiday all at the same time is a very dangerous combo. I was definitely eating for two that day! ( and the rest of the weekend)

The weekend was filled with boys playing golf, girls shopping and lots of left overs and family time!

                                                             Car ride to Conroe
As we got back to Austin Sunday night, I was reminded that I had started my Christmas decorating, but left in the middle of it. I do not know why it was taking me so long, but all I know is I started ELF for the third time and finally made myself stop! It definitely has taken me longer this year, I just don't have as much energy i guess. As of now, most of the decorating is finished, I am just debating on putting our small tree upstairs...we will see.

My plan is to begin some Christmas shopping tomorrow, I feel very behind this year! I am just happy that everywhere I go I hear Christmas music! How can you not be happy listening to Christmas carols?

20 weeks! Half way there!!

I can't believe I am half way there! It is amazing how quickly each week had gone by! The best part is that tomorrow we will find out if Baby is a boy or a girl! We are so excited! It is all becoming more and more "real". I know that may sound silly, because I have obviously been very aware we are having a baby, but it feels like we have been waiting  to make any decisions untill now! Let the shopping begin!

20 weeks

19 weeks

There are many perks to being a teacher, one is hearing the comments 5th graders have about being pregnant! Here are just a a couple of the things I have heard this week...

"Mrs. Sutton, that belt gonna hurt your baby!"  - this is to me after wearing a belt above my bump

" I told my class you were pregnant, but they didn't believe me, they said they just thought you were getting fatter!"

I love my job!

                                                                           19 weeks

It is sad that everyday I come home and immediately put on some sort of leggings or work out pants! Jeff is probably getting a little tired of me looking like a slob! Oh well, I feel it will only get worse...

There is something in there....

Last Friday I am pretty sure I felt baby move! Well... I wasn't sure for a couple of days but when I kept feeling this weird bubble pop in my belly I finally allowed myself to understand that there is a real live human moving around in my belly! It kinda creeped me out a little, but also was pretty amazing!

There have been a couple of new things my body is getting use to, such as my belly button is getting more and more shallow! Jeff thinks its hilarious... me, not so much! I have always thought there is no way my weird deep belly button could ever pop out... but I am quickly realizing that this baby can pretty much do whatever it wants to me! I am also pretty sure my ankles are swollen. I'm not sure, but all of the sudden I looked down and my ankles seem awkwardly larger than normal. It may be in my head.... I will find out tomorrow when I try to wear my skinny jeans and they may not fit around my ankles.

Besides some of the weird things happening to me, I have had a pretty good week so far! Shopping has filled most of my evenings since Jeff has been out of town. New maternity jeans, leggings, and snowboard pants.... yes snowboard pants! Now no need to worry, I am completely aware that this will be the first in a very long time that I will not be able to go snow skiing, but that does not stop me from an AMAZING bargain! Check it out....
Yes, that is right, I bought a pair of $219.00 Burton snowboard pants for $15.99!! This is why I do not understand how people do not bargain shop! I know searching through racks of clothing you most likely do not want is time consuming... but it is totally worth it when you find a deal like this!
Only 5 days till we find out who this new little addition will be! Stewie can't wait to find out if he is going to have a brother or a sister! I am so excited and pretty sure I will drag Jeff straight to Janie and Jack from our doctors appointment Monday!

18 weeks

This week went by so quickly I realized I had not even taken a belly pic... oh my! Here is a quick pic I took today ( 18 weeks and 6 days).
Yup... belly is growing! That explains the frightened face!

Friends and Football

This weekend Jeff and I were honored to have some of our best friend in town for the weekend! Jeremy and Andi drove the dreaded drive from the LBK to ATX to watch Tech embarrass themselves against ut. Although the game was very uneventfull, we had a wonderful weekend. Friday night was spent catching up and making an early night to prepare for the 11am game on Saturday. We woke up early and headed to Trace and Jenna Vinyards tailgate for the beginning of a good day. Football watching and good food at J.Blacks ended our day pretty early... yes we all headed home at 10pm and were wiped!

Jeff does a good job of making sure I am comfortable and happy while out at the bars sippin my water all night. Sean was able to join us for the evening and treated me to a delisious mexican coke float (perks of being the pregnant one)! I totally understand how easy it is to indulge on yummy food, because people feel bad for you and there is NO WAY I will turn away something sweet!

Speaking of eating too much, I have been sitting on the couch catching up on shows and email in my workout clothes for the last couple of hours. I keep telling Jeff that I am heading to the gym... but it has not happened yet! I have enjoyed my couple of personal training sessions last week, I have one more then I am on my own. You are able to continue most all the same workouts that you would do if not pregnant, but just on a lower impact level. It is very nice being able to work out for an hour and leave not having broke a sweat! I don't have to be the stinky one walking around HEB anymore! Now dont get me wrong, I am VERY sore from not having done any strength training in about 6 months.

The last 2 weeks I have watched the scale go up about a pound each week. I know it is nesessary and totally normal, but it is crazy to be "allowed" to gain weight! I am still looking forward to actually looking "more pregnant". I bought the cutest dress a couple of weeks ago to wear for Thanksgiving, and as of now it's looking like it may have to wait till Chirstmas. I definitly did not realize at the beginning, that for about 1/2 of your pregnancy you don't even look pregnant, you just feel crappy, tired and everyone wonders why you arn't drinking!

I am 18 weeks and 2 days today and we are counting down the days (15) untill we find out of we are having a little Phoebe or Phoebo. That will be the start of lots of shopping I am sure!
